“We
control Mother Nature instead of accepting her...we don’t like
the wild side of nature…”
“The Last Call”, the first
ever event for the public presented by children of Ashwini
Charitable Trust, showcases their talents in the fields of Dance
and Drama. This dance drama raises serious environmental issues.
The play is set in 2043 AD. Due to severe drought, water is
distributed for drinking and washing purposes at designated
parts of the city. The land has been taken over by high rise
buildings and skyscrapers. Most forms of flora and fauna
have ceased to exist in and around the city. The forests
of trees as we know it today
have been overrun with concrete jungles. People have forgotten
that trees once existed and that too in abundance. Rain has
almost become a myth.
Then one day, people are rudely awakened to the pitiful state
that Mother Earth is in and decide to do something about it.
...and thus started a people’s movement.
“...nature will perform one of her miracles…she always
preserves her seeds… ”
Main characters:
Kaalima – a visionary
The children of the city
