Diwali 2010 @ ACT Annual Day 2010
ACT celebrated our annual community Diwali - with sweets and fireworks- at the RBANM'S Grounds on Sunday the 28th of November. Click here for photos. The children get an opportunity to exhibit their talents and also gain confidence to face the public. ASTITVA - The search for identity

We are grateful to our volunteer, Preeti Rai for organising a unique birthday party- the first after the sad demise of Vishnuvardhan. Actress Bhavana spent a couple of hours interacting with our children. She spoke to the children about the challenges, the hard work, the grime behind the glamour of the silver screen.

State Bank of India’s Girl Child Education Program

For the third consecutive year State Bank of India selected some of our girls for sponsorship taking the total to 8 girls this year.

Cisco organised a unique Telepresence between our senior girls and their counterparts in USA. They discussed various topics like friendship, Homework, etc.

Networking with AXA

Goldman Sachs observed one more year of Community Team Works with the children of ACT. This involved 14 days of fun, laughter, food and learning. This year’s star attractions were: 4 Excursions to: Lalbagh Botanical gardens, Nandi Hills,Parle G Factory,The Big Banyan Tree.The indoor activities included fun with Maths, English, Word Games, History Day, Origami, etc..

AXA Business Services has partnered with ACT. Besides organising a marathon in the UK which would help raise funds for the ACT kids, AXA employees will volunteer 2 hours a week teaching our children academics, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. 30 volunteers visited the center to kick off the season’s volunteering.

This marathon, you can support the cause of education by running for Ashwini Charitable Trust (ACT).  

Shashikala, one of ACT supported children is going to 3rd year Bachelor of Computer Application in June 2009. In her fourth semester exam she stood 2nd in her class with an aggregate of 92% and next year would like to beat the boy who stood 1st. But this can only happen if we can pay her fees of Rs.44,000 at the St.Joseph’s Arts and Science College. Click here for more...

        On 13th March,ARM Embedded Technologies Pvt. Ltd inaugurated their new office in Bangalore. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York was present and pledged 2000 hours of volunteering time from ARM employees to ACT.

The Last Call . . .

Day out with RJ Bobby (FM 92.7)

           The Last Call is the first ever dance drama showcasing the talents of the children of ACT. This futuristic play addresses existing environmental issues.             Fun, fusion, smiles & applauds-that sums up our 5th annual day. The evening of January 7th left us with wonderful memories.
